SUVARNABHUMI AIRPORT BANGKOK   (Pronounced "su-wan-na-poom")
The name Suvarnabhumi was chosen by HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej which means "The Golden Land", specifically
referring to the continental Indochina. "Golden Peninsula" or "Golden Land" is a traditional name for the Thailand-
Cambodia-Laos-Burma region. Opened on 28th September 2006 there are many truths and rumours about the airport now,
in Mid Feb 2007 the Government has announced that some International and Domestic services will return to the old Don Muang
Airport to relieve congestion while urgent repairs are undertaken.  This will confuse many travellers and you will be directed by your
Airlines as and when it comes into force, expected to be late March.  If you have to use both allow up to two hours to transfer.
A full report at opening is at www.pattayagay.com  &  www.bangkokairportonline.com  is also a great web site with many pictures.
